Sri Lanka has a long history. It is well documented and most of us have a good knowledge of it. The history of Sri Lanka is one of the most sophisticated civilizations of the world then. The old social order, the arts, irrigation systems, laws, commerce, architecture, schemes, etc. diplomatic relations had been among the most developed in the contemporary world. Exodus of people from place to place, different schemes rulers, wars between different races, the efforts for genocide, the betrayals, famine, epidemics, prosperity and periods peace were all part of our history. These are common and similar for almost all civilizations existed on this earth.

Our ancestors had lived a simple life. Apparently, they had no obligation to be very competitive to survive in this blessed island green. Yet they had developed some of the best technologies in architecture and irrigation in the contemporary world. The development has been directed to provide the level of dignified life for its people rather than destructive purposes. The surviving giant stupa, temples, tanks, seats, statues and irrigation systems continue to inspire fear in the mind. These legends are alive to prove that we are a nation with a capacity unlimited. Sri Lankans have the natural genetic birthright and heritage of a nation once brilliant. These giants are sleep with us until awakened from a deep coma. It is interesting to analyze what went wrong in the present generation.

Now Sri Lanka is to have a multiracial society very literate. As at present the country's population exceeds 20 million dollars and came at a critical state in which people are struggling to achieve a meaningful life. If we analyze the needs of an average family Srilankan, those are just the basics of life. Food, drinking water, shelter, clothing, electricity, transportation, child rearing, health care, have decent jobs for eligible members of the family, social security, protection against natural disasters, entertainment, spiritual needs and esteem needs are the basic requirements of each Srilankan. It is a classification slightly more expanded basic needs of food shelter and clothing simple. It goes beyond simple definitions, because the expectations of society are higher due to better literacy in the population. The population has a better understanding of the world and what it has to offer. But very Unfortunately, these needs are the same things that are far from the majority of our population to varying degrees. The gap between expectations and reality rapidly growing, more explosive frustration. People came in a fierce competition to meet their needs using the resources and opportunities limited. This intense competition has given rise to selfishness, jealousy, shortsightedness, fear and distrust, lying and cheating. In all the years to come, the number of requests far exceeds the number vacancies available in these relatively good schools. Governments impose more restrictions to fight against this situation.
